Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that lifting sanctions strengthens the Russian defense sector. The President called for tightening restrictions instead of attempting to engage in dialogue.
The lifting of sanctions against Russia effectively means assisting the Russian military by supporting its defense industry. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with Face the Nation, UNN reports.

According to him, following the partial easing of certain sanctions, there were no noticeable changes in the global oil, gas, or diesel fuel markets. He noted that Russia's share of the global oil supply is only about 5%, so it could not have significantly affected the situation.
Zelenskyy emphasized that the lifting of sanctions is not related to economic benefits, but rather to an attempt to build a dialogue with Russia. At the same time, he considers such an approach to be a mistake.
The President stated that, in his opinion, Russia does not respond to words or expressions of empathy and may perceive the softening of sanctions as a sign of weakness.
