Zelenskyy seeks clearer US security guarantees and announced answers to existing questions in the document

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy seeks stronger US security guarantees as part of any peace agreement to end Russia's war, amid efforts to resume stalled talks with Moscow, also reporting an agreement that "in the coming days, Ukraine will include in the draft document answers to the questions we have regarding these security guarantees," writes UNN with reference to Bloomberg.

The US must clearly explain how it would respond if Russia renewed its attack on Ukraine, Zelenskyy said at a meeting with journalists on Thursday.

The President said he wants more clarity on funding for Ukraine to maintain an 800,000-strong army as a deterrent against aggression after the war ends. And he said he expects the US to supply Ukraine with advanced air defense systems, including THAAD, to protect against high-speed ballistic missile strikes, similar to the support the US provides to allies in the Middle East.

Zelenskyy said that talks with US envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff during a phone call on Wednesday were "partner-like" and productive. The envoys intended to present Ukraine's views to US President Donald Trump, and they may also have contact with Moscow, he said.

We don't know if we will get what we agreed on, but the agreement is that in the coming days, Ukraine will include in the draft document answers to the questions we have regarding these security guarantees

– said Zelenskyy.

US-led talks between Russia and Ukraine have been suspended as the Trump administration is engrossed in a conflict with Iran that has been ongoing for a second month. The fourth round of talks, scheduled to be held in the United Arab Emirates, was postponed in early March, and it is unclear when negotiations might resume, the publication notes.

If it doesn't work with all three, then let's do it this way – one by one. I heard positive signals from partners regarding such a proposal

- Zelenskyy indicated.
