Zelenskyy and António Costa discussed Europe's role in peace negotiations and the schedule for opening clusters. Europe must have a strong voice in the process.

On Sunday, May 17, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with the President of the European Council, António Costa. They discussed the negotiation process to achieve peace and Ukraine's European integration. The Head of State reported this on social media, according to UNN.

"We spoke in detail about the prospects of the negotiation process for the sake of peace for Ukraine and all of Europe. I informed him about our recent contacts with various leaders in Europe and with the American side. We both see that Europe must be involved in the negotiations. It is important for it to have a strong voice and presence in this process, and it is worth determining who exactly will represent Europe," Zelenskyy stated.
In addition, the parties spoke about Ukraine's European integration.
"We are ready to open clusters – we discussed the schedule and the necessary communication regarding this," said the Head of State.
Zelenskyy also thanked Costa for supporting Ukraine and Ukrainians.
