The President of Ukraine signed decrees awarding the Order of Freedom to Olga Harlan, Oleksandr Usyk and Justin Trudeau. The awards were given in recognition of outstanding achievements in sports and strengthening of international cooperation.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed decrees awarding the Order of Freedom to Ukrainian athletes Olha Harlan, Oleksandr Usyk and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, according to the President's website, UNN reports.

Details

Olga Harlan, a multiple Olympic sabre fencing champion and medalist, was awarded the Order of Freedom "for outstanding services to Ukraine's independence and the consolidation of society, a significant contribution to strengthening the authority of the Ukrainian state in the world and outstanding achievements in sports" by Decree No. 579/2024 of August 23.

"Oleksandr Usyk, the absolute world boxing champion in the super-heavyweight category, was also awarded the Order of Freedom by Decree No. 578/2024 of August 23 for his outstanding services in strengthening Ukraine's independence and consolidating society, his significant contribution to strengthening the authority of the Ukrainian state in the world and outstanding achievements in sports.

The President also signed Decree No. 575/2024 of August 23 on awarding the Order of Freedom to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau "for outstanding personal achievements in strengthening Ukrainian-Canadian interstate cooperation, support for Ukraine's state sovereignty and territorial integrity.
