Verkhovna Rada supports two bills on IDPs: what they are about

The Verkhovna Rada voted in favor of two draft laws: one prioritizes IDPs for compensation for lost housing, and the other ensures the housing rights of IDPs by conducting a nationwide real estate inventory to identify vacant properties suitable for them.
The Verkhovna Rada has voted in favor of two draft laws on internally displaced persons in the first reading. We are talking about document No. 11028, which determines the priority among IDPs for receiving compensation for lost housing. Also, the draft law No. 11281 on ensuring the housing rights of IDPs. This was announced on Wednesday by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko, UNN reports .
"The Verkhovna Rada has voted in the first reading on draft law No. 11028, which prioritizes IDPs for compensation for lost housing. There were 290 votes in favor," - Honcharenko wrote on Telegram.
According to him, according to the document, it is planned to give priority to the categories of citizens who are entitled to compensation:
- have reached retirement age;
- have a dependent child under the age of six;
- have two minor children as dependents;
- have a dependent child with a disability;
- raising a child under the age of 14 without one of the spouses;
- are persons with disabilities of group III.
The MP noted that the draft law can still be finalized with amendments for the second reading.
