Ukrainians abroad will form Chains of Unity in support of Ukraine on Ukraine’s Independence Day, August 24, the Ministry of Culture reported on Saturday, UNN writes. 

On August 24, Ukraine’s Independence Day, at 19:00, Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine in different countries around the world will join the global "Chain of Unity" campaign. Participants will take to the central streets of their cities and, holding hands, form symbolic chains in support of Ukraine

The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

"The aim of the campaign is to unite Ukrainians living abroad around Ukraine and once again draw the attention of the global community to our country. On this day, Ukrainians in different parts of the world will be able to demonstrate their unity and remind the world: borders may divide us, but Ukraine unites us," the statement said.

The campaign is taking place outside Ukraine. At the same time, those in Ukraine can support the initiative by telling their relatives, friends and acquaintances abroad about it so that the campaign reaches as many cities around the world as possible, the Ministry of Culture noted.
