Ukraine's national Paralympic team won 20 awards, including 8 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze medals at the World Championships in Canada.

Ukraine's national Paralympic para-biathlon team won the World Championships in Canada. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, UNN reports.

It is noted that in total, the Ukrainian team of 24 athletes won 20 awards: 8 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze.

In particular, in the pursuit race, the entire podium was Ukrainian: Bohdana Konashuk won gold, Lyudmila Lyashenko won silver, and Oleksandra Kononova won bronze.

The World Championships in Canada were the first to feature a team sprint. Lyudmyla Liashenko and Bohdana Konashuk won the gold medal in the UORA/vision category. Taras Rad and Vasyl Kravchuk won a silver medal in the sitting category

The Ministry of Youth and Sports also published a list of Ukrainian world champions and prize-winners: 

- Liudmyla Liashenko (standing class) - 3 golds (including team sprint), 1 silver;

- Taras Rad sitting class) - 2  gold, 2 silver (including team sprint);

- Oleksandr Kazik (guide Serhiy Kucheryavyi, class of athletes with visual impairments) - 2 golds, 1 bronze;

- Yaroslav Reshetynsky (guide Dmytro Dragun, class of athletes with visual impairments) - 2 silver, 1 bronze;

- Bohdana Konashuk (standing class) - 2 golds (including team sprint);

- Sergiy Romaniuk (standing class) - 2 silver medals;

- Vasyl Kravchuk (sitting class) - 1 silver (team sprint);

- Natalia Tkachenko (guide Ivan Marchyshak; class of athletes with visual impairments) - 1 bronze;

- Hryhorii Vovchynskyi (standing class) - 1 bronze medal;

- Alexandra Kononova (standing class) - 1 bronze.

Recall

Ukrainian veterans have already won 34 medals, including 20 gold medals, at the United States Air Force Trials 2024. The event is attended by wounded soldiers and war veterans.
