The Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure is updating the form of a bus ticket. The changes will come into effect on October 19, abolishing the requirements for the color and size of the ticket, but retaining the mandatory details.

Ukraine is updating the bus ticket form, the Ministry of Community, Territorial and Infrastructure Development reported on Friday, UNN reports.

Details

"The form of the bus ticket has been changed. Now the ticket can be of any form, the main thing is that the main attributes required by passengers and required by the relevant legislation are reflected," the ministry said with reference to the relevant order

The changes will come into force three months after the date of official publication, i.e. on October 19. "During this time, carriers will be able to prepare for the use of the updated ticket form," the agency noted.

"The next step is to approve technical requirements for automated fare collection systems so that they are compatible with each other. To do this, we need to conduct a detailed screening of such systems already operating in the regions and develop an optimal model for use by local governments and carriers," said Deputy Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development Serhiy Derkach.

Reportedly, the main changes include:

  • the rule on the color and size of the ticket, tariff zones, depending on the type of connection, has been canceled. Now it doesn't matter what color and size the ticket will be - the main thing is the presence of mandatory elements;
  • mandatory details are defined as information about the route, fare, ticket registration number, time and date of departure and arrival, information about the carrier and operator of the automated fare collection system (if it is introduced), and insurance information. The mandatory details also include the ticket validity period/expiration date, if an automated fare collection system is in place on the route;
  • the concept of the form of an electronic ticket was regulated in accordance with the current law, which entered into force on June 28. The updated order also stipulates that an electronic ticket can be on a phone or any other digital gadget and is equivalent to a printed ticket.
