Ukraine evacuates five more teenagers from occupied territories – ombudsman

Ukraine managed to evacuate five Ukrainian teenagers from temporarily occupied territory. This was reported by Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, reports UNN.

According to Lubinets, among those who are already in territory controlled by Ukraine is a 17-year-old girl.

Her journey was not easy: due to difficulties with her documents, the girl had to wait several days for them to be processed at an embassy far from her relatives. But the girl did not give up her desire to return to Ukraine. She wanted to live here, study, receive an education and build her future in a free country. Today, the Ukrainian girl is with her grandmother, who has become her support and source of strength 

The other four teenagers also decided to study and live in territory controlled by Ukraine and likewise wished to leave.

Behind each such story  — lies complex and lengthy work. After all, many Ukrainians whom we manage to evacuate do not have Ukrainian documents, or their documents have expired. Therefore, our task is not only to organize a safe route. We coordinate the resolution of documentation and other issues, help them legally cross the border, obtain the necessary medical assistance and social protection, restore their documents and adapt.
