Ukraine has held the first round of negotiations with the UK on a deeper partnership agreement. The new agreement will build on previous agreements and cover a wide range of areas of cooperation.

Ukraine has held the first round of talks with the United Kingdom on a bilateral agreement on the transition to a stronger and deeper partnership. The Ukrainian delegation was headed by the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, UNN reports with reference to the Presidential Administration.

"We are grateful to your people, government and parliament for the help and leadership we have experienced since Russia's full-scale invasion. The UK was the first to sign a security agreement with Ukraine, and now the first to work on a historic document on a 100-year partnership. We hope that the negotiations will be successful and that this historic document will soon be signed by the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom," said Yermak.

The Head of the President's Office emphasized that our country needs the support of the UK to restore a just peace and prevent new aggression against Ukraine.

According to the OP, the future comprehensive long-term agreement will be based on the provisions of the 2020 Agreement on Political Cooperation, Free Trade and Strategic Partnership and the 2024 Agreement on Security Cooperation between Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

"The new document should contain even more ambitious goals for our cooperation. We aim to enshrine unprecedented provisions in all areas of mutual interest: from security to economy, from energy to culture and art," said Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva, who also took part in the talks.
