Starting January 1, 2027, the liberalization of freight transport will come into effect between Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina. This means that bilateral and transit transport between the countries will be carried out without the need for permits. This was reported by the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, according to UNN.

The relevant agreements were reached by the Ministry of Development team during the first meeting of the Joint Commission on International Road Transport in Sarajevo. Prior to the launch of the "transport visa-free regime," the parties also agreed to increase the quota of freight transport permits until the end of 2026.

"We continue to expand the geography of freight transport liberalization for Ukrainian carriers. The agreement on a 'transport visa-free regime' with Bosnia and Herzegovina is another step towards simplifying international logistics, supporting exports, and integrating Ukraine into the European transport space. At the same time, increasing the permit quota this year will allow businesses to operate more stably and predictably,"

- noted Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine - Minister for Communities and Territories Development.

It is noted that the liberalization of transport will reduce the administrative burden on carriers and make international logistics more predictable and efficient.

Bosnia and Herzegovina will become the 36th country on the list of states with which Ukraine has liberalized freight transport conditions.
