A drunk driver caused an accident near Kyiv - five people were hospitalized as a result of a collision between two cars, UNN reports, citing the police of the Kyiv region.

The accident involving two cars occurred near the village of Hora. It has been preliminarily established that the 43-year-old driver of a Ford, while intoxicated, was performing a U-turn maneuver, failed to give way, drove into the oncoming traffic lane and collided with a VAZ. As a result of the accident, the 42-year-old driver of the VAZ and his four passengers were taken to hospital with injuries of varying severity.
Law enforcement officers detained the driver of the Ford, placed her in a temporary detention center and served her a notice of suspicion (Part 1 of Art. 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
