Turkey may consider the possibility of participating in the demining of the Hormuz zone if a peace agreement is reached between the US and Iran. This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Reuters reports, as relayed by UNN.

Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that Turkey may consider the possibility of participating in demining operations in the Strait of Hormuz after a possible peace agreement between Iran and the United States

According to him, after any agreement is reached, a technical group is expected to carry out demining operations in the strait, adding that Turkey in principle views such efforts positively as a humanitarian duty.

He also added that Turkey will review its position if any future technical coalition of countries becomes a party to the renewed conflict.
