Truck driver to pay over UAH 50 thousand fine for overloading in Kyiv region

A driver in Kyiv region faces a fine of UAH 51,000 for a vehicle overloaded by almost 40%. The State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety has once again emphasized the importance of complying with weight standards.
In the Kyiv region, a carrier violated weight standards and overloaded his car by almost 50%, so the driver must pay a fine of 51 thousand hryvnias. This is reported by the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety, UNN reports.

The violator driving a MAN TGX 26.480 was detected by an automatic system on the roads of Kyiv region.
The WIM system recorded an excess of the total weight of the vehicle by more than 38%: 55.44 tons with a permitted maximum actual vehicle weight of 40 tons. As a result, the carrier will pay a fine of UAH 51,000

The agency reminded that the following fines for violation of dimensional and weight standards are in force in Ukraine:
- from 5% to 10% - UAH 8,500;
- from 10% to 20% - UAH 17,000;
- from 20% to 30% - UAH 34,000;
- over 30% of the established norm - UAH 51,000.
Ukrtransbezpeka urged carriers to comply with the established weight and size standards. This will help preserve road infrastructure and avoid unforeseen expenses.
