Top manager of Mariupol Iron and Steel Works to be tried for collaboration with occupiers, faces 12 years in prison

The production director of Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol, who cooperates with the occupiers, has been charged. He re-registered the company in the so-called "dnr," allowed the deployment of russian troops there and campaigned for work for the invaders.
The so-called "top manager" of the Ilyich Iron and Steel Works, who agreed to cooperate with the aggressor state in the temporarily occupied Mariupol, faces up to 12 years in prison. This was reported by the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, UNN reports.

Prosecutors of the Left Bank District Prosecutor's Office sent to court an indictment against a citizen on the facts of collaboration and aiding the aggressor state (Part 6 of Article 111-1, Part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The article provides for a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for 15 years and confiscation of property
It is reported that in 2022, the production director of the Ilyich Iron and Steel Works (Roman Solonar, according to local media) established contact with representatives of the russian federation who seized the city of Mariupol.

The fake top manager re-registered the company with the "tax authorities of the donetsk people's republic". Under the pretext of clearing the rubble and repairing the damaged workshops, he persuaded the remaining workers to cooperate, and later ensured that they were forcibly filtered by the so-called security forces. He also allowed the russian military, in particular a unit from chechnya, to be stationed at the plant and have their equipment repaired using the plant's facilities.
In addition, at meetings with representatives of the "ministry of industry and trade of the Ddpr," the defendant, as a deputy of the city council from the united russia party, supported false prospects for the development of the industry under the auspices of the russian federation. The pseudo-official gives interviews to local media in which he calls on citizens to work for the invaders.
