The Zakarpattia Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center is investigating violations identified at the Berehove District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center following a visit by a representative of the Ombudsman

The Zakarpattia Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center reported that it is reviewing the results of the monitoring conducted at the Berehove RTCC by a representative of the Ombudsman. The Zakarpattia RTCC and SS reported this, UNN writes.

Details

According to the RTCC, all identified comments and facts will be examined, after which the leadership will make appropriate management decisions. 

The military recruitment office assured that it does not tolerate violations of citizens’ rights, improper performance of duties, or actions that undermine trust in the RTCC system.

The agency assures that it is open to cooperation with the Ombudsman and other bodies to clarify all the circumstances. Recommendations for improving the conditions of temporary stay for persons liable for military service have already been taken up, and photographic materials demonstrating the actual conditions at the center have also been published.

Background

Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, stated that there were "shocking details from Zakarpattia," where, according to him, "at the Berehove RTCC and SS, men from all over Ukraine were deprived of their lawful deferments ‘with one click,’" and described the scheme, saying that he had forwarded the materials to law enforcement agencies.
