American troops launched an additional round of strikes at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time (10:00 p.m. Kyiv time) following morning attacks targeting an island near the Strait of Hormuz, UNN reports, citing CNN.

The new strikes focused on "Iranian military capabilities used to threaten vessels transiting freely through the Strait of Hormuz," the U.S. Central Command said on X.
The statement did not specify the area of the strikes.
"The U.S. military is holding Iran accountable at the direction of the Commander-in-Chief," the statement added.

Earlier on Wednesday, American troops began a 90-minute round of attacks on Greater Tunb Island. CNN reported in March on the significance of several islands, including Greater Tunb, which one researcher described as part of Iran's "arch defense."
