For the fourth year in a row, Ukrzaliznytsia and the Plast have been spreading the Bethlehem Fire across Ukraine, and for the third year in a row, in the midst of a full-scale war.

This winter, the Bethlehem Fire will become a symbol of resilience and victory over evil. Everyone is invited to join this tradition, take a piece of fire to their homes and share its warmth with their loved ones.

Every year on Christmas Eve, the Scouts bring the Peace Light of Bethlehem to the Christian world. The tradition began in 1986 in the Austrian city of Linz, when a local broadcaster decided to bring the fire from Bethlehem to hospitals and orphanages to support those who celebrate Christmas away from home. The fire is flown in by plane from Bethlehem, and later the idea was picked up by the Scouts, making it an international one.

In Ukraine, the Peace Light of Bethlehem has been distributed by the Plast members since 1988.

Last year the Bethlehem Peace Light was delivered to the government.
