The Ministry of Justice has filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court to impose sanctions on former MP Viktor Medvedchuk and his wife Oksana Marchenko, who are close to the Russian leadership and Vladimir Putin, in order to recover their significant assets, including cars, planes, real estate, corporate rights, trademarks, funds and cultural property.

Medvedchuk and Marchenko are reportedly close to the leadership of the Russian Federation and have personal friendly ties with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

It is noted that the Ministry of Justice has declared for recovery the property owned by Medvedchuk and Marchenko directly and indirectly (through individuals and legal entities), in particular:

  • movable property (24 cars, 2 aircraft (Gulfstream G650 airplane, Bell-427 helicopter), 1 pleasure boat (Azimut benetti spa, the name of the boat is Romance 1);
  • real estate (more than 20 objects), corporate rights of 22 legal entities (regional power companies, TV channels, etc.), property rights to 8 trademarks, funds of Medvedchuk V.V. and Marchenko O.M. (equivalent to about UAH 1.9 million), more than 1000 items of historical, cultural and material values (watches, jewelry, paintings, headsets, interior items, a railway restaurant carriage with furniture).

At the request of the Czech Republic, the European Union imposed sanctions against former MP Viktor Medvedchuk and pro-Russian propagandist Artem Marchevsky, as well as the Voice of Europe website, which spread pro-Russian propaganda.
