The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is testing a new lightweight model of body armor weighing 7.5-12 kg for Ukrainian military, and the final stage of laboratory testing is underway.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is testing a new lightweight model of body armor for the Ukrainian military. The last stage is now underway - laboratory tests. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense, UNN reports .
Details
It is noted that the new body armor is characterized by lightweight construction, mobility and convenience for performing maneuverable actions during assault and special operations.
The weight of the new armor ranges from 7.5 kg to 12 kg.
We understand the importance of the weight of equipment for combat missions, especially for special forces and assault troops. Every centimeter and every gram of the product was taken into account when working on the lightweight vest. We expect positive results of the final tests, as this armor is very much needed in the units,
The model has already been tested at the Intelligence School of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and received positive feedback. The last stage, laboratory testing, is currently underway.

In the first half of 2023, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine codified more than 60 new models of domestically produced ammunition, including more than 50 models for drones, mortar shells of various calibers, artillery shells, melee weapons, and small arms ammunition.
