Kremlin spokesperson Peskov stated that there is a pause in the peace process and an expectation of its resumption. He also expressed hope for mediation efforts from the United States.
The Kremlin claims that the peace process with Ukraine is "on pause," but Russia "expects its resumption," as reported by Russian media citing Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, UNN writes.

"Currently, the peace process (regarding Ukraine) is on pause. We expect that it will eventually be resumed," Peskov said.
"And we expect that our American colleagues will continue their peacekeeping efforts in this regard and their mediation efforts," Peskov added.
He also cynically stated that strikes by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation "are carried out only against military or paramilitary targets."
Peskov also called warnings that Russia might be preparing for further escalation involving Belarus—by opening another front against Ukraine or attacking a NATO country—an "escalation of tension." At the same time, Peskov stated that "Belarus, yes, is our ally. We have a Union State with Belarus. But it is a sovereign state."
