The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court did not extend the duties for the former head of Naftogaz Kobolev, suspected in the case of the bonus. The court allowed him to travel abroad, leaving only a bail of UAH 107 million.

The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court has not extended the term of duties assigned to the former head of the Board of Naftogaz Andriy Kobolev, who is suspected of embezzling UAH 229 million in bonuses, SAPO reported, UNN writes.

"Due to the fact that the term of the duties assigned to the former chairman of the board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine expired on 12.11.2024, the SAPO prosecutor applied to the court on 01.11.2024 with a request to extend them. However, the next court sessions at which the court was supposed to consider the application in Kazan, namely 05.11.2024 and 08.11.2024, did not take place at the initiative of the court. but on 01.11.2024, the chairman of the panel of judges granted permission to the specified accused to travel abroad from 04.11.2024 to 25.11.2024," the SAPO reported UNN.

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's office, as noted, sent letters to VAKS on 08.11.2024 and 11.11.2024 demanding to consider a request to extend the preventive measure until the end of its term.

"An additional meeting was never scheduled. as a result, the term of validity of the duties assigned to the accused has expired," the SAPO noted.

The department noted that the accused was assigned the following duties until 12.11.2024: inform the court about the change of his place of residence; refrain from communicating with witnesses; deposit a passport (s) for traveling abroad with the state migration service of Ukraine.

"As of today, the accused has a preventive measure only in the form of bail in the amount of UAH 107 million. now the issue of applying to the court with a request to re - impose procedural duties on the accused is being resolved," the SAPO said.

On January 19, 2023, the former chairman of the board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Kobolev was informed of suspicion of abusing his official position, securing the payment of bonuses above the maximum allowed by more than UAH 229 million.

In September last year, VAKS reduced the amount of bail for Andrey Kobolev from UAH 229.25 million to UAH 107.12 million.
