“Stabilization actions are underway": Third storm on counterattack in Kharkiv region

Oleksandr Borodin, a spokesman for the 3rd Separate Mechanized Brigade, said that stabilization operations are currently underway in Kharkiv region. According to him, the positions and logistics of the Russian 20th Army have been seriously destroyed. He said this on the air of “Radio Liberty”, reports UNN. 

We are currently taking stabilization measures. We have generally consolidated the hold, so the situation is quite stable. One of our successes is that we were able to keep the Russian 20th Army from further plans and the possibility of developing assault actions 

According to him,  the military of the 20th Army of the Russian Federation probably wanted to advance towards Makiivka, on the other hand, they could transfer personnel to other frontline areas across the country. 

“At the moment, they (Russian troops - ed.) are trying to restore some parts of their positions and build a new line of defense. Therefore, it is extremely important from a military point of view.<... Destroying forces and means and disrupting plans is often a more important success than liberating territories,” Borodin said. 

When asked if the operation was related to the Ukrainian Armed Forces' operation in the Kursk region, he said it was a “synchronized success.”

On August 22, the Third Assault Force announced that it had launched an offensive operation in the Kharkiv region. The military has already taken control of the occupiers' battalion defense area and advanced almost two kilometers deep into the front.
