When asked how this mass border breach could have happened given the reinforced security on both sides of the border, and whether Morocco poses a threat to Ceuta, Marlaska defended the government in Rabat.
"The events require assessment by Spain and Morocco. But it is cooperation with neighbors that allowed Spain to change the situation within 24 hours. Morocco does not pose a threat to Ceuta or the rest of Spain. It is a reliable partner," the official emphasized.
