SLOTS U.A. LLC supports national research on the impact of gambling

The largest national sociological study on the impact of gambling on society has started in Ukraine. The initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the state agency PlayCity, and the Public Union "Center for Responsible Gaming" (CRG) was supported by the Association of Ukrainian Gambling Business Operators (AUGBO), of which SLOTS U.A. LLC is a member.

According to the CRG, the purpose of the study is to obtain objective data on the prevalence of gambling in Ukraine, analyze public attitudes towards the gambling industry, estimate the number of players, and determine the proportion of individuals who may be at risk of developing gambling addiction. Consumer experience, the socio-demographic profile of players, and the consequences faced by both players themselves and their environment will be studied separately. Special attention will be paid to vulnerable categories of the population: military personnel, internally displaced persons, and youth.

The study will combine quantitative and qualitative methods, including a nationwide survey, analysis of online casino user behavior, focus groups, and in-depth interviews with players and their families. Experts in medicine and social services will also be involved in the project.

As emphasized by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, decisions in the field of gambling regulation should be based on clear data, not assumptions. The CRG adds that there is currently a lack of systematic analytics in Ukraine that would allow for a comprehensive assessment of the industry's impact on society. That is why such a study is extremely necessary for developing balanced and effective solutions.

The first results of the study are expected in May 2026, and the final report will be published in early August. The data obtained is expected to form the basis for improving responsible gaming policy and strengthening mechanisms for preventing gambling addiction.

It should be recalled that SLOTS U.A. LLC and the Public Union "Center for Responsible Gaming" previously signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at developing a culture of responsible gaming, preventing gambling addiction, and supporting socially important initiatives. The document provides for the coordination of efforts in educational, informational, and consulting activities, and the current study is a logical continuation of joint work within this partnership.
