On the border with Russia, 100-150 attacks are recorded daily, most of them in Sumy region. The situation in the Belarusian direction is under control, with no troop movements observed.

The spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, spoke about the situation on the borders with Russia and Belarus. He also noted that the occupiers do not stop shelling Sumy, Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions.

He said this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine, according to a correspondent of UNN .

The border with Russia remains dangerous, in fact, as a front line, because of the daily shelling that Russia, unfortunately, does not stop every day within the Chernihiv region. Although there are fewer attacks there, they are also present on a daily basis. This is also Sumy region, where the majority of attacks by the terrorist country are recorded. Kharkiv region is also where there are both shelling and active combat zones: the direction of Vovchansk and Liptsy, where the enemy would like to move further into the territory of our country. This is, of course, the Kupyansk direction, which is right on the front line

- Demchenko said.

“As for the shelling, the enemy uses artillery to strike most often, and also actively uses drones. According to Demchenko, if we take into account the Sumy direction separately, the Russians often use aviation to strike at the border.

The activity of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups is not increasing now. In fact, their activity has decreased over time, and we do not see such regularity or significant use of their sabotage and reconnaissance groups by the enemy. But, of course, the threat from them has not disappeared. For example, in the Chernihiv region, the enemy used a sabotage and reconnaissance group not for fire, but for information and psychological influence, hanging its tricolor in an area that actually cuts off the border from the main territory of Ukraine by rivers. There are no Ukrainian defense forces there, because it is inexpedient to keep them there: people do not live in the settlements, and the presence of our military could pose a threat to their lives

- Demchenko noted.

He added that our defenders are well aware of the threats posed by saboteurs along the entire length of the border. They are working to prevent them from entering the territory of Ukraine, to prevent sabotage activities, and to detect and knock out the enemy in a timely manner.

The SBGS spokesperson reminded that there are brigade-type border guard detachments along the front line where the border guard units are located. Their capabilities have been expanded to conduct full-fledged combat operations.

Recently, the three brigades “Vengeance”, “Gart” and “Steel Frontier” were joined by the Kramatorsk border guard detachment, which was named “Forpost”. It is also building up its capabilities and has the necessary munitions to defeat the enemy.

Demchenko said whether the number of attacks, for example, in Sumy region, has decreased due to the operation of the Ukrainian military in Kursk region.

The situation remains generally stable in terms of the number of attacks: no significant increase or decrease has been recorded. On average, the enemy makes 100 to 150 attacks in three regions per day. There are days when there may be fewer attacks, but there are also days when there are many more. On average, the number of attacks per month reaches about 3 thousand

- Demchenko said.

As for sabotage and reconnaissance groups, he said, their activity has decreased, including due to the operation in the Kursk region. The situation on the Belarusian border.

This area is still a threat to us. We continue to do everything necessary to have strong defensive positions both along the border and in the

- Demchenko noted.

However, the situation on the border with Belarus is very different from the border with Russia.

We fully control the entire length of this border. No unusual situations or destabilization have been recorded on the other side. We also see no movement of equipment or personnel of the Belarusian army to the border

- added the SBGS spokesman.

Russia does not currently have sufficient forces on the territory of Belarus to pose a serious threat to our country.

“At the same time, we remember how the territory of Belarus used to be used for exercises, training and coordination of actions of the army units of the Russian Federation and Belarus. But gradually, Russian troops were withdrawn to their own territory, and there was no rotation of new ones. Our intelligence units are constantly monitoring the situation,” Demchenko said.
