The SBU denies claims that the Russian spy network has intensified in its ranks, saying that this is a misinterpretation of the words of the NSDC head, and emphasizes the ongoing successes in counterintelligence activities.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said that certain accents voiced in the media today regarding the activation of a network of spies within the Ukrainian special service are not true and are a manifestation of an incorrect interpretation of the words of National Security and Defense Council head Oleksiy Danilov. This was reported to the journalist of UNN by the press service of the SBU.

We emphasize that certain accents voiced in the media today regarding the activation of a network of spies within the Ukrainian special service are not true and are a manifestation of an incorrect interpretation of the words of the head of the National Security and Defense Council

- the SBU said.

In addition, the SBU stated that countering attempts by enemy intelligence services to establish their agent networks and destabilize the situation in Ukraine is one of the key activities of the SBU.

We record such manifestations and systematically and effectively neutralize the activities of those who intend to harm state security.  For example, in 2022-2023, the SBU exposed more than 2,000 traitors and identified more than 300 agents of foreign intelligence services. Among those exposed were MPs Viktor Medvedchuk, Andrii Derkach, Oleksandr Ponomariov, Oleksandr Dubinskyi, former head of the SBU Main Directorate in Crimea Oleh Kulinich, and others. These results, in particular, were the result of the SBU strengthening its counterintelligence activities, changing its personnel approaches to its work, and going through an internal cleansing .

 , the SBU noted.

The Security Service of Ukraine also neutralizes any attempts by the Russian FSB and the game to use its agent potential in wartime, and does everything possible to ensure that enemy networks are completely eradicated.
