SAP asks to increase bail for MP Kachnyi to UAH 12.7 million

Prosecutors appealed the UAH 3 million bail for Oleksandr Kachnyi due to suspicion of illicit enrichment. SAP insists on the seizure of foreign passports.

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) has filed an appeal with the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) against the HACC's decision to apply a bail of UAH 3 million to People's Deputy Oleksandr Kachnyi. This was reported by the SAPO press service, according to UNN.
The SAPO prosecutor filed an appeal with the Appeals Chamber of the HACC against the HACC's decision of April 17, according to which a bail of UAH 3 million was applied to the People's Deputy of Ukraine of the IX convocation.
SAPO emphasized that the prosecution considers this amount of bail insufficient, therefore, in its appeal, the prosecutor insists on increasing its amount to UAH 12.7 million, as well as imposing a wider range of procedural obligations on the suspect, including surrendering all his passports for traveling abroad, as well as other documents that give the right to leave Ukraine and enter Ukraine, for safekeeping to the relevant state authorities.
