A retirement home suffered the most as a result of the missile strike on Sumy. Electricity supply has been restored and gas supply is expected to be restored in the near future.

This morning, a nursing home with  elderly people suffered the most damage from a missile attack by the Russian army on Sumy. Electricity has been restored in the city, and gas supply is expected to be resumed in the coming days. The head of the Sumy city military administration, Oleksiy Drozdenko, told this on Suspilne TV channel, UNN reports

Around 6:40, a missile attack took place. Preliminary, the missile was shot down because it did not hit any targets. The biggest damage was done to the elderly care center. A random person on the street was injured

- said Drozdenko.

According to him,  the boarding house has minor damage. There is no need to resettle people.

Several broken windows in the hospital, three civilian cars and a gas pipeline were also damaged as a result of the hostile attack. There was a small fire, which has already been extinguished by rescuers. In addition, a power line was damaged.

Currently, electricity has been restored to all residents, but gas is still being repaired  and 724 subscribers are without gas. However, the work is not complicated. We are confident that gas workers will do their job efficiently in a short time, and we will restore gas supply as soon as possible

- Drozdenko said

Drozdenko believes that gas supply will be resumed today or tomorrow.

Earlier it was reported that as a result of the enemy strike, part of the population of the city of Sumy was left without electricity and gas supply, and a hospital building was damaged. Russian troops carried out 12 attacks on the region overnight, including missile and anti-aircraft missiles.
