Russian troops fired 16 times at localities in Donetsk region over the last day. The shelling killed 4 civilians and injured 3 others. Numerous buildings and infrastructure were damaged.

Russian troops fired 16 times at settlements in Donetsk region yesterday, killing four residents and injuring three others.  This was reported on Thursday by the head of the RMA Vadim Filashkin, UNN reports. 

"On August 21, Russians killed 4 residents of Donetsk region: in Siversk, Ukrainsk, Kostiantynivka and Petrivka. Another 3 people were wounded in the region over the day," Filashkin wrote on Telegram. 

According to Filashkin, the operational situation in the region as of the morning of August 22 is as follows: 

  • Pokrovsk district. In Kurakhove, Hirnyk and Veselyi Hai, the private sector is in the area of damage; in Uspenivka 2 houses were destroyed. In Selidove 1 person was wounded, 10 trade pavilions were damaged; in Ukrainske 1 person died, 2 five-story buildings were damaged. In Myrnohrad 2 private houses were destroyed.
  • Kramatorsk district. In Kostyantynivka, 1 person was killed, 3 private houses, 3 multi-storey buildings, 3 administrative buildings, 2 industrial premises, 3 power lines, a gas pipeline and 3 cars were damaged. In Pleshchiyivka, Illinivska community, 8 houses and 2 power lines were damaged; in Zorya, 3 facilities were damaged.
  • Bakhmut district. In Petrivka of Toretsk community, a person died and a house was damaged. In Chasovoyarsk community, 7 private houses, a multi-storey building, an administrative building and an infrastructure facility were damaged.

The head of the RMA also said that 3,174 people, including 246 children, have been evacuated from the front line.
