Russian troops are trying to break through to Pokrovsk through the left and right flanks to surround the city. Formations of three Russian combined arms armies are concentrated in the area.
The Russian occupiers are continuing to try to break through to Pokrovsk, but there have been no battles in the city or on the outskirts. This was reported by the spokesman for the operational and strategic grouping of troops "Khortytsia" Viktor Tregubov during a telethon, UNN reports.
"At the moment, the invaders are still trying to break through to Pokrovsk, but there are no fighting in the city or on the outskirts of the city. However, the area remains one of the hottest. There are no enemy subversive reconnaissance groups in the city yet. The enemy is trying to move as far as possible from the outskirts of Pokrovsk and break through the left and right flanks of the Defense Forces in order to cover the city itself," said Tregubov.
He noted that fighting continues in the Pokrovske sector with the enemy, who has a significant advantage in manpower.
"The units of three Russian combined arms armies of the 2nd, 41st and 51st Central Military District of the enemy are concentrated against us... The fighting there is very tough, because the Russian occupiers are throwing all available forces forward and trying to break through the defense of our troops," Tregubov said.
