Russian troops are trying to expand their presence along the state border of Ukraine, using the tactics of small assault groups and seeking new areas for penetration. The situation remains most tense in the Lyman and Kupiansk directions. This was reported by Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson of the Joint Forces Group, during a telethon broadcast, as reported by UNN.

Details

According to Trehubov, the Russian command has not abandoned attempts to create a so-called "control zone" along the entire Ukrainian border. To this end, the occupiers are constantly looking for new directions where they can advance with small infantry groups.

Currently, one such area is the Kozacha Lopan district in Kharkiv region. Previously, similar penetration attempts were also recorded near Dehtyarne and Sotnytskyi Kozachok.

The Russians are doing what they have always done — banging their heads against the same walls, but their heads are strong enough. Now the enemy is at the peak of its summer offensive campaign

- said Trehubov.

According to the spokesperson, the enemy has a sufficient supply of ammunition and reserves, and has also significantly increased the use of guided aerial bombs.

At the same time, despite the intensity of the attacks, Ukrainian defenders manage to hold back the offensive thanks to prepared defenses and modern means of destruction.

And they stop, first of all, due to well-equipped positions and an effectively established drone line, an effectively established kill zone. Of course, there are also downsides — they still have a significant numerical advantage

- emphasized the spokesperson.

Trehubov also explained that the occupiers have practically abandoned the use of large columns of armored vehicles, as such equipment is destroyed even on the approaches to Ukrainian positions.

They do not risk using large columns of armored vehicles because they are destroyed even before reaching the attack lines. That is why the Russians continue to operate in small infantry groups

- he noted.

According to the spokesperson, this tactic will remain the main one for Russian troops at least until a significant technological breakthrough occurs on the battlefield that changes the nature of combat operations.
