The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a law on raising the excise tax on tobacco products. The cost of a pack of cigarettes will increase by about 40 hryvnias, and the budget will receive more than 20 billion hryvnias.
The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a bill to raise the excise tax on tobacco products. the cost of a pack of cigarettes from the next one will increase by about 40 hryvnias. This was announced by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, reports UNN.
""The parliament approved No. 11090 on raising the excise tax on tobacco products as a whole. for - 237," Zheleznyak wrote.
According to him, next year a pack of cigarettes will grow by about 40 UAH. maybe more, since excise taxes by this law will be tied to the euro and gradually approach the minimum requirements of the EU in their volume, the MP added.

The Verkhovna Rada in June supported in the first reading a bill to increase the excise tax on tobacco products. The excise tax on cigarettes is pegged to the euro, not the hryvnia, and it is assumed that in 2025 the excise tax will increase by +23%, and then in 2026-2028 it will be +5%.
