Nikol Pashinyan submitted a resignation statement from the post of Prime Minister of Armenia. Until the formation of a new government, members of the government will continue to perform their duties.

On the first day of the first session of the National Assembly, the Prime Minister submits a resignation letter to the President of the Republic of Armenia. And now I am going to sign the Prime Minister's resignation letter in accordance with Article 158 of the Constitution, which is addressed to the President of the Republic. Mr. President, in accordance with Article 158 of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, I ask you to accept the resignation of the government
At the same moment, he signed the aforementioned letter. Meanwhile, until a new government is formed, the members of the government will continue to perform their duties.
Furthermore, Article 149 of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia stipulates that after the start of a new term of the National Assembly, the President of the Republic immediately appoints as Prime Minister the candidate nominated by the parliamentary majority.
Today, the parliamentary majority will submit the candidacy of the Prime Minister to the President and, accordingly, will have the right to appointment in accordance with Article 148 of the Constitution
