Prices for the root vegetable have risen due to active purchases by wholesalers who store carrots for storage and by households who stockpile them for the winter. This is reported by analysts of the project EastFruit, UNN reports.

Today, farmers in the main production regions are shipping quality carrots at 18-25 UAH/kg ($0.16-0.22/kg), which is on average 12% more expensive than at the end of the last working week. However, industry experts emphasize that the upward trend in prices is observed only in the segment of high quality carrots, which are purchased for storage.
According to analysts, prices for quality carrots in Ukraine are now on average 3.3 times higher than in the same period last year.
At the same time, some producers plan to continue to raise prices for carrots, provided that the current sales rates are maintained.
