At 13:00, the Halytskyi District Court of Lviv will hold a hearing on the election of a preventive measure against the suspect in the murder of linguist Iryna Farion, an 18-year-old resident of Dnipro. UNN reports this with reference to the Prosecutor General's Office.
"A court hearing to choose a preventive measure against the suspect will be held today at 13:00 in the Galician District Court of Lviv," the Prosecutor General's Office said.

Earlier, UNN reported that law enforcement officers had served an 18-year-old resident of Dnipro with a notice of suspicion of murdering Irina Farion. Prosecutors will request that he be held in custody without the possibility of bail.

On July 19, an unidentified person shot at Iryna Farion, a linguist and professor at Lviv Polytechnic. The woman was taken to the hospital with a head wound in an extremely serious condition. Iryna Farion died in the hospital.

According to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko , law enforcement officials have enough evidence to claim that it was an 18-year-old boy detained in Dnipro who shot at linguist Iryna Farion. According to him, the investigation lasted 139 hours.
The police reported earlier that they had several versions of the murder of linguist Iryna Farion, including public and political activities and personal animosity. Law enforcement officers found a shell casing after the shooting and do not rule out a "Russian trace" in the crime.
