Only 12% of Ukrainian pensioners receive more than 10 thousand hryvnias in pensions

As of July 2024, 26.1% of Ukrainian pensioners receive a pension of less than UAH 3,000, and only 12.5% of pensioners receive payments of more than UAH 10,000.

As of July 2024, less than half of Ukrainian pensioners receive pensions that do not exceed UAH 4,000. And 12.5%  of pensioners receive payments of more than 10 thousand hryvnias. This is reported by UNN with reference to the data of the Pension Fund.

Details

According to the Fund, the total number of pensioners in Ukraine is 10.26 million. The average pension is UAH 5,816.6.

In general, the amount of pensions is distributed as follows:

  • up to UAH 3,000 - 26.1% of pensioners receive;
  • from UAH 3001 to 4000 - 17.3%;
  • from UAH 4001 to UAH 5000 - 18.6%,
  • from UAH 5001 to UAH 10,000 - 25.5%,
  • over UAH 10,000 - 12.5%.

According to the Pension Fund, the largest pensions are received in Kyiv (average UAH 7,949.2), Rivne (UAH 7,255), and Donetsk (UAH 7,137.78) regions.

At the same time, pensioners in Ternopil Oblast receive the lowest payments, with the average amount being UAH 4,436.4.

The Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovych stated that only 9.5 million Ukrainians pay the unified social tax, while 11 million pensioners receive pensions, which creates a critical situation.
