Odesa TCC official to go to trial in case of millions earned on tax evaders

An employee of the Odesa Recruitment Center will be tried for interfering with the Oberih database. He falsified the data of 138 conscripts, earning about a million dollars.

An official of the Odesa Recruitment Center, who was caught making millions on evaders, will be tried. The official is accused of unauthorized interference in the work of the electronic database of the register of persons liable for military service "Oberig". UNN reports this with reference to the State Bureau of Investigation. 

SBI officers have completed a pre-trial investigation against an official of the Primorsky RTC and Odesa JV who organized a large-scale mechanism for making money from men who wanted to avoid mobilization. The indictment was sent to court.

Reportedly, in late May , the SBI exposed an illegal scheme that had been operating in the Odesa Recruitment Center since July 2023. At that time, the head of the department unauthorizedly began to interfere with the work of the electronic database of the register of persons liable for military service "Oberih" and "corrected" the data on 138 persons liable for military service, falsely making them unfit for military service.

Such a "service" cost from 4.5 to 7 thousand USD and allowed the defendant to earn at least one million USD.

The SBI has identified all those who managed to take advantage of the scheme. Some of them managed to go abroad. 

The fugitives who remained on the territory of Ukraine were taken to the recruitment center to update their data, the SBI said. 

The official is accused of unauthorized interference in the work of information and communication systems (Part 3 of Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 6 years.
