Japanese Defense Minister Gen Nakatani said that on Tuesday, North Korea launched at least seven ballistic missiles that flew 400 kilometers and reached an altitude of 100 kilometers, all of which fell outside Japan's exclusive economic zone.

The missiles were launched at about 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday (22:30 GMT on Monday) from the outskirts of Sariwon, North Hwanghae Province. This was reported  by the Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea.

The new launch follows North Korea's test last week of a huge new solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile (Hwasong-19). Interestingly, the ballistic missile launch occurred a few hours before the start of voting in the US presidential election.
