The Neutron Source nuclear subcritical facility in Kharkiv was left without external power supply due to Russian shelling, but the radiation situation at the facility remains within normal limits, as emergency diesel generators are operating.
The Neutron Source nuclear subcritical facility has been de-energized due to Russian shelling of Kharkiv, and the radiation situation at the site is within normal limits, the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine reported on Thursday, UNN reports.

"According to the information received from the operating organization, the National Scientific Center "Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology", the nuclear subcritical facility "Neutron Source Based on a Subcritical Assembly Controlled by a Linear Electron Accelerator" (NF "Neutron Source") lost external power supply at 08:30 am today during the shelling of the city of Kharkiv by Russian troops," the SNRIU said in a statement.
It is noted that "the emergency power supply system worked in the normal mode, emergency diesel generators were switched on.
"The radiation situation at the site is within normal limits," the SNRIU said.
