MPs do not intend to dismiss Prosecutor General Kostin, media reports call it a rumor.
The other day, the media reported on personnel decisions that are allegedly going to take place in the Office of the Prosecutor General in the near future.
UNN asked representatives of the Servant of the People faction whether the dismissal of Andriy Kostin is really being prepared.
Details
According to MP Yevheniia Kravchuk, there is no information on this matter, nor is there a presidential motion to terminate Kostin's powers, which means that this issue is not even being discussed.
"Is there a submission from the President or a statement from the Prosecutor General? This is the answer - the Rada cannot vote on something based on sources.
In general, I personally positively assess the work of the Prosecutor General and am grateful that he pays attention to the crimes of the Russian Federation against the cultural heritage of Ukraine," she said.
MP Fedir Venislavsky also confirms that the information about the change of the Prosecutor General is a rumor.
"I don't have any official or unofficial information on this," he said.
As a reminder, rumors of Andriy Kostin's dismissal have been circulating in the media for months. Oleh Kiper, who currently heads the Odesa regional administration, is also considered the most likely candidate. However, Kiper himself has repeatedly stated that he has no plans to change his position.
