More than 185 million accounts opened by payment service users in 2023

In 2023, the number of accounts opened by payment service users in Ukraine increased by 15.5% year-on-year to 185.1 million.
The number of accounts opened by users of payment services increased by 15.5% compared to the previous year and amounted to 185.1 million. This is reported by the NBU, UNN writes.
Details
The total number of accounts opened by payment service users increased by 15.5% year-on-year to 185.1 million. As of January 1, 2023, this number stood at 160.2 million accounts.
In addition, the number of users serviced remotely continues to grow. Currently, more than two-thirds of all users with accounts with payment service providers use remote services: 89.2% of business entities and 79.5% of individuals, which amounts to 2.9 million and 62.3 million customers, respectively.
At the beginning of 2024, accounts were opened for users in 63 banks and one non-bank payment service provider.
The total number of users amounted to 82 million, which is almost 3% more than at the beginning of the previous year (79 million as of January 1, 2023).
