Ministry of Defense explains rules of new combat contracts with guaranteed deferment after service

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has introduced new 24-month combat contracts for military specialists. After service, a guaranteed deferment from mobilization for six months is provided, which can be extended based on combat experience.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has introduced a new format of combat contracts for military personnel, which provides for a clearly defined term of service and a guaranteed right to a deferment after its completion. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense, writes UNN.
Details
The new contracts are designed for conscripts and current military personnel. They can be concluded by UAV operators, electronic warfare specialists, operators of ground robotic systems, artillerymen, and other military specialists who are not included in the list of infantry assault contract positions.
The term of such a contract is 24 months. After its completion, the serviceman is guaranteed a basic deferment from mobilization for six months.
The duration of the deferment will depend on combat experience
The Ministry of Defense explained that the deferment may be longer. For each day of performing combat missions, one more day of deferment will be added, and for each year of service before 2022, one additional month.
The new system also provides for a changed approach to monetary support. The base rate will be UAH 20,000 per month, to which combat payments will be added depending on the location and nature of the service.
In particular, an additional UAH 30,000 is provided for command and support positions, UAH 50,000 for military personnel at command posts, and UAH 100,000 for those who directly participate in combat operations. A rear allowance of UAH 10,000 per month has also been established.

For those who sign a contract for the first time, a one-time payment will range from UAH 27,000 to UAH 33,000 depending on military rank.
In addition, once a year, military personnel will be able to receive health benefits in the amount of UAH 20,000.
The Ministry of Defense stated that the new contracts should provide military personnel with more certainty regarding the terms of service and create additional incentives for professional development in the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
