Mexico was outraged by the deportation of its citizens to third countries without prior warning. The US has already transferred more than 2,000 Mexicans to Guatemala.
Mexico opposed the decision by the United States to deport Mexican migrants not directly to their homeland but to third countries, including Guatemala, while Washington does not inform the Mexican authorities about such transfers. LRT reports, UNN writes.

Mexican authorities say they are ready to accept their citizens deported from the United States; however, the U.S. administration has already transferred more than 2,000 Mexicans to Guatemala. One of the goals of this policy, according to Washington, is to deter illegal migration.
At the U.S.-Mexico border, migrants continue trying to enter the United States despite the strengthening of the security system. According to LRT, Mexican cartels may demand up to $20,000 to smuggle people across the border, while attempts to cross the desert terrain often end in injury or death.
"They make these makeshift ladders, which are used by people who transport people across the border. The so-called \"coyotes\" build them so that people can climb over the wall. But on the other side, they do not always build ladders that people can use to climb down. Recently, people have been forced to jump down. In addition, it is obvious that the ladders are very primitive and cannot support people's weight. We have seen more than once how people fall from them, resulting in fatalities and very serious injuries
Migrants are increasingly being transported by sea
Tighter controls along the land section of the border have caused changes in illegal migration routes. According to LRT, Mexican cartels are increasingly using maritime routes to transport people.
Migrants from various countries in Central and South America travel through Mexico toward the U.S. border. Some of them say they cannot safely travel through Mexico by public transport because of the activities of criminal groups.
At the same time, the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump continues the practice of sending migrants to third countries. In particular, Mexicans are transported by plane to Guatemala, after which they are returned to Mexico. Representatives of the Mexican embassy and consulates accompany the citizens and provide them with information about the procedure.
