In Cherkasy region, a man is suspected of beating a dog with a stick in the presence of children. He was served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for up to 5 years in prison with confiscation of the animal.

The investigation established that on July 15, in the village of Katerynopil in Cherkasy region, a few meters from the bank of the Hnyly Tikych River, a man in the presence of young children deliberately struck a dog with a wooden stick several times.

A resident of Zvenyhorod district of Cherkasy region was served a notice of suspicion of cruelty to animals committed in the presence of a minor under Part 2 of Article 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine

The sanction of this article of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of three to five years with confiscation of the animal.
