In Western Australia, a male diver died after being bitten by a shark that was estimated to be 4.5 meters long. The 35-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was spearfishing with family near Michaelmas Island, southeast of Perth, when he was attacked at 11:25 local time on Saturday. He was brought to shore by boat, where he was met by paramedics who were unable to resuscitate him,
