HACCU changes the measure of restraint for Nasirov, suspected of legalizing €21 million bribe. The court chose custody with an alternative bail of UAH 200 million due to failure to post a preliminary bail.

The High Anti-Corruption Court has changed the measure of restraint for Roman Nasirov, the former head of the State Fiscal Service, suspected of legalizing more than €21 million in bribes. He was sent to custody with an alternative bail of UAH 200 million due to failure to post the previous bail.  This was reported by UNN with reference to the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP).

On July 19, 2024, the HACC investigating judge upheld the position of the SAPO prosecutor and changed the measure of restraint for a person close to the former Head of the SFS who is suspected of legalizing part of the illegal benefit received by the Head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine in his favor and in favor of third parties during 2015-2016

- the SAPO said in a statement.

It is noted that according to the court's decision of June 24, the suspect had to deposit UAH 200 million in bail to the relevant HACC account within 5 days of the decision. However, the funds were never deposited.

In view of this, the SAPO prosecutor filed a motion with the court to apply a more stringent preventive measure to the suspect - detention for 60 days with an alternative of UAH 200 million bail.

The court agreed with the prosecutor's arguments and granted the motion in full.
