The Latvian government will allocate 4.44 million euros to the Social Integration Fund to organize free cultural orientation courses, Latvian language lessons and integration activities for Ukrainian refugees living in the country.

This year, the Latvian government will provide the Social Integration Fund (SIF) with 4.44 million euros to provide cultural orientation courses and integration activities for Ukrainian refugees. This was reported by the press service of the Latvian government, according to UNN.

The Latvian government has supported the proposal of the Ministry of Culture to allocate EUR 4.44 million to the Social Integration Fund to organize free courses and integration activities for Ukrainian citizens residing in Latvia.

The Foundation will announce a call for projects to ensure that courses and activities are available to Ukrainian civilians in all regions of Latvia, closest to their current place of residence.

It is specified that Ukrainians will be offered cultural orientation courses, which will include the study of Latvian history, cultural environment, as well as a 20-hour course in the state language, language clubs and information on state and municipal services. Additionally, activities to facilitate integration into Latvian society will be organized, such as camps, seminars, as well as cultural, sports and family events.
