Kyiv warned of air pollution amid reports of dust from the Sahara: recommendations issued

High levels of fine dust pollution have been reported in Kyiv, with authorities recommending closing windows and avoiding outdoor activities until air quality improves.
A high level of air pollution with fine dust has been recorded in Kyiv, KCSA reports, UNN writes.
This warning was issued for the capital amid reports of dust from the Sahara Desert arriving in Ukraine.

"There is a temporary deterioration in air quality in Kyiv due to an increase in the concentration of fine dust fraction PM10. It was brought to Ukraine from the Mediterranean along with the heat wave. It is recommended to refrain from walking and ventilating the premises until the situation is normalized," the Department of Environmental Protection and Climate Change Adaptation of KCSA reports.
It is additionally recommended until the air situation improves:
- avoid physical activity outdoors;
- drink plenty of water;
- If you have an air purifier, turn it on to maximum.
