Kyiv Region Creates Online Barrier-Free Map: What the Interactive Service Will Show

The Kyiv RMA is developing an interactive map of the region's barrier-free accessibility with accessibility indices. The region implemented all 25 measures of the National Strategy for Barrier-Free Space.
Kyiv Regional Administration is working on creating an online map of barrier-free accessibility in Kyiv region. The interactive map will contain images of various objects and each will have a barrier-free index. This was announced by the head of the Kyiv RMA Ruslan Kravchenko, UNN reports.

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of Kyiv RMA, took part in an expanded meeting of the Barrier-Free Council with the participation of First Lady Olena Zelenska and Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba. The meeting summarized the results of the Council's work this year.
"Barrier-free accessibility means comfort for everyone. It's not just ramps or elevators, it's about equal opportunities for everyone: people with disabilities, parents with strollers, the elderly, those in a hurry, and those who just want to live comfortably," Ruslan Kravchenko emphasized.
Kyiv region is actively working to make the region convenient for everyone. The capital region ends the year with the following indicators:
- The Kyiv RSA has implemented all 25 measures to implement the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine.
- all 69 communities have adopted barrier-free plans, and most have established barrier-free councils
- We monitored more than 5.3 thousand facilities for their accessibility for people with reduced mobility. We are already working to eliminate problems where they have been identified
- For the first time, barrier-free routes were surveyed, including pedestrian routes on the main streets of settlements, public transport stops, etc
- Together with the LUN City Center for Urban Research, the regional administration is working on creating an online map of barrier-free accessibility in Kyiv region. The interactive map will contain images of various objects and each will have a barrier-free index
- 78% of vocational education institutions have barrier-free infrastructure for learning
- Work continues to increase the percentage of barrier-free shelters
